Jose Mourinho has an umatchable 9-years unbeaten home record.Jose Mourinho’s Last Home Loss

You will need to go back to February 23, 2002 to remind the Special One of his last domestic home defeat. At that time, Jose Mourinho was in charge of giants FC Porto and he had to guide his team against Beira Mar in the Portuguese Liga.

The controversial encounter saw Jorge Andrade pick up a 25th minute red card for a foul on Beira Mar’s Bruno Ribeiro; the visitors didn’t fail to capitalise on Porto’s weakness through the resulting free-kick which was successfully converted by Cristiano Rocha.

A few moments after the second period went underway, Fary Faye made it 2-1 for Beira Mar after Porto’s Benny McCarthy had found an equalizer late in the first half. Troubles piled up on Jose Mourinho’s men when Deco followed Jorge Andrade for an early shower, with roughly 15 minutes remaining in the game.

Being down to 9 men, Mourinho struggled to organize his team. Carlos Paredes levelled the score line for the host, but if he thought that he had stolen a point away from Beira Mar, Fary Faye proved him wrong with an 85th minute winner. It was a bitter day for Jose Mourinho which in fact marked his last domestic home defeat since then. The video below, which dates from last year, shows highlights of Porto’s 3-2 defeat to Beira Mar.
