Both teams were unable to get to Boca's stadium due to the complicated weather conditions in Buenos Aires.

Football fans will have to wait to witness one of the most anticipated games of the year, as the first leg of the Copa Libertadores Final was postponed 24 hours due to the harsh weather conditions in Buenos Aires.

CONMEBOL authorities tried to wait and see if rain decreased in the Argentine capital, but the massive amount of water that came down from the skies had already taken a toll on Boca's stadium, making it almost impossible to play today.

Neither Boca nor River wanted to postpone this match, but none of these clubs were able to get to the stadium due to the harsh weather conditions.

A panoramic view of Alberto J. Armando Stadium, also known as "La Bombonera", showed the damage caused to the pitch.

The stands also suffered from the heavy rain, with severe flooding in some sections.

Here's how CONMEBOL confirmed the sad news for all football fans.

"The first leg of the Copa Libertadores final between Boca Juniors and River Plate was suspended due to the heavy rain in Buenos Aires."

"Weather storms took place all day long in Buenos Aires caused the Copa Libertadores final to be postponed."

The game is set to take place on Sunday, November 11, at 14:00 ET/16:00 ART/19:00 GMT.
