Although Dortmund saw their unbeaten run across all competitions end as they were defeated 2-0 by Atletico Madrid midweek, Lucien Favre's side are still unbeaten at Signal Iduna Park. Die Schwarzgelben will be certainly looking to recover after their Champions League disappointment as they take on bitter Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich in the much-anticipated Klassiker match on Saturday. This game gives them a great opportunity to further extend their lead over Niko Kovac's side, who have largely turned the Bundesliga title race into a one-horse affair over the past few seasons.
Bayern, meanwhile, have not been their usual domineering self this season, much to the delight of other Bundesliga fans and neutrals, but much to the despair of Bayern supporters. Certainly, that's not what most Bundesliga fans had expected to see when the season started, but football indeed is a surprising thing, and the question now on many fans' minds is whether this is a sign that Bayern's hold over the Bundesliga has started to come to an end, or whether this is a temporary dip in form?

Talking point - Who'll clinch the first Klassiker of the season?
As usual, Der Klassiker will ultimately end up being the title decider as it has been in several seasons. However, for the first time in recent times, Bayern will not be able to overtake Dortmund in the league table even if die Roten manage to win it, as they sit three points behind. Will this psychologically help die Schwarzgelben? If the hosts can win, they will go seven points clear, and that certainly will be a huge blow to Bayern, who would then have an even bigger gap to close after the international break ends. If Bayern do manage to win, however, it would mean that just one point exists between the two sides, leaving die Schwarzgelben with a lot of work to do after the international hiatus.
Simply put, with Bayern dealing with injuries to key players like Thiago, Corentin Tolisso, Kingsley Coman, and now veteran Arjen Robben, plus struggling under the tutelage of new manager Niko Kovac, Dortmund couldn't ask for a better opportunity to put the Bavarians to the sword. They need to take advantage of the out-of-sorts visitors and strike when the iron is hot, and on paper at least, the first Klassiker of the season seems like it certainly could go Dortmund's way.
