The Frenchman ensured that the Gunners extended their unbeaten run across all competitions this season to 14.

Alexandre Lacazette's stunning late strike was enough to ensure that points were shared between Arsenal and Liverpool in Saturday's epic Premier League clash. After Sadio Mane's goal was controversially disallowed in the first half, the Reds took the lead in the 61st-minute through James Milner. The goal was the English man's 50th in his Premier League career and his 14th in the competition since joining Liverpool.

Nonetheless, a moment of brilliance in the 82nd-minute by Alexander Lacazette eclipsed the ex-Manchester City man's milestone. The former Lyon forward latched onto a perfectly weighted pass from Alex Iwobi and blasted the ball past an on-rushing Alisson having initially displaced the Liverpool goalkeeper with his first touch.

As a result, Lacazette took his tally for the season to five after 11 games while ensuring that Arsenal kept its unbeaten streak at the Emirates Stadium this season intact. The Gunners also extended their unbeaten run across all competitions to 14. Unai Emery's new side's last defeat can be traced back to August 18 where they lost 3-2 at the Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.

Speaking at the end of the proceeding, the former PSG boss highlighted the importance of Lacazette's strike.

"This goal from Lacazette is important. Today we had a lot of chances.

"The Premier League is the first competition for us. It's very important when you play against City, Chelsea, Liverpool and if you win it's better.

"But the other games are important also. Today is one test, how we are against a team like Chelsea. Maybe today we are more near those teams. But we need this quality in every match. Every game is important like today."

Emery also talked about the improvement in his team after meetings with Chelsea, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

"I think the progress takes a long time. Against Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool, these were teams were all in front of us.

"I think in these three matches, today was the most complete performance."

Arsenal currently sits in fifth place with 23 points whiles Liverpool momentarily sits atop the league log with 27 points.
