It’s revitalized Liverpool vs Wigan Athletic on Saturday and there’s a great chance for the hosts to follow up their Chelsea win with a victory again. Yes, because Steven Gerrard is set to return to the Liverpool line up!
The Liverpool captain missed England’s friendly match against Denmark in midweek through injury. But Coach Kenny Dalglish expects his talisman to be fit on Saturday for the Premier League game at home to Wigan Athletic.

“It's only Thursday, so we'll find out when we get nearer to the weekend. Obviously, we hope he will be [fit],” Kenny declared as he commentated on Steven Gerrard’s condition.

The Liverpool coach furthered his discussion about his team. The Sun quoted the legend as saying:

“At the moment, there is no-one on international duty that is coming back with injury problems. Martin Skrtel travelled with Slovakia and then came back, so we'll have to assess him as well.

“But we are not training until later today [Thursday] so we'll see when everyone gets in.”

Meanwhile, Andy Carroll is yet to make his Liverpool debut. Since joining the Merseyside Reds from Newcastle United on the last day of the January transfer window, the striker hasn’t make a single appearance as he still has to recover from a thigh injury which he picked up at his former club. Explaining matters, Liverpool’s Kenny Dalglish stated:

“Andy is progressing very well. We never gave a date [for his debut] and we won't put a date on it.

“We just said it would be a few weeks [before he can play for Liverpool. As long as we are patient and Andy is patient, we'll be okay. But we won't be rushing him back.”

Kenny Dalglish will guide his revived Liverpool team against Wigan Athletic this weekend with the opportunity of recording victory number 5 since taking over as the club’s manager in mid-January. Liverpool haven’t conceded a single goal in 360 minutes of football and they are poised to maintain their momentum by getting a better result against Wigan Athletic than the 1-1 draw which they earned on November 10 last year.
