Canada’s force in football is the opposite of what they are in hockey. But the World Cup is every player’s dream so Simpson wants the Greece vs Canada friendly to help his side rehearse ahead of Brazil 2014.
“How many Canadian sports fans even know that we are here [in Larissa] this week to play a World Cup nation like Greece?” Josh Simpson asked as he slammed Canada’s level of passion and commitment in football.

The Manisaspor striker, who is among the Turkish league’s top scorers, cannot understand how defeat could be an option in Canadian soccer but not in hockey for example. As he pursued his phone interview with the media according to the Times Colonist, Josh Simpson revealed:

“I’m tired of losing [matches] and I don’t like that the public persona of the Canadian national soccer team is so negative.

“Football is my life, and I would like to help point it in the right direction in my country. The dream is to qualify and play in the next World Cup [in 2014 in Brazil].”

Canada are currently 80th in the FIFA World Rankings. They are 40 places below their all time best which occurred in December 1996. Can they get a good result against 10th placed Greece on Wednesday?
