Manchester United and Manchester City may have been quiet during the offseason, but other teams stepped up with massive signings ahead of the EPL campaign that begins today.

All teams in the English Premier League agreed to end their transfer business one day before the beginning of the competition, and in that spirit, all transfers in will cease until January.

There were big spenders from previous seasons such as Manchester United and Manchester City that failed to replicate those numbers, but other teams such as Chelsea and Liverpool stepped up to make the English top flight the league that spent the most money in boosting their squads this summer.

This transfer window brought some interesting footballers to the EPL, and some of them are expected to have a big impact in their teams due to their reputation or due to the amount of money paid for their services.
