One of the most controversial transfer sagas of this summer was the one that involved Malcom. The former Girondins de Bordeaux wingman snubbed Roma at the last minute to join Barcelona, which caused the fury of Giallorossi fans and execs.
Today, during his unveiling ceremony with Los Blaugranas, the footballer revealed that once Barcelona showed interest in signing him, there was no doubt in his mind on where to continue his playing career.
"I always kept calm. My agents dealt with all those subjects. I saw this as my only chance to play for Barcelona. Here, I will get to play with the best footballers in the world," Malcom stated.
The South American footballer left it up to Ernesto Valverde to decide if wants to use him in their first International Champions Cup match, set to take place this Saturday.
"I'm ready to play. The coach has to decide if he wants to give me some minutes or not, but as of now, I'm available," Malcom added.
Before the press conference concluded, Malcom praised Lionel Messi, naming the Argentinian as the best footballer that's ever graced the pitch.
"Messi is a legend, the best footballer in the world. It will be an awesome experience to play by his side. I am really looking forward to learn everything I can from the best player in history," Malcom concluded.
