The Liverpool manager has hit back at his persons who have questioned his dealings in the transfer window .

Jurgen Klopp has apparently gone back on his word after criticizing the heavy spendings of Premier League clubs back in 2016, particularly on Paul Pogba's mega-deal which brought him from Juventus to Manchester United. The Frenchman, having left the Red Devils as a teenager, was signed back in a deal worth £89 million pounds.

"If you bring one player in for £100m and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney," he said at the time.

"The day that this is football, I'm not in a job anymore, because the game is about playing together.

"That is how everybody in football understands it. You always want to have the best, but building the group is necessary to be successful.

"Other clubs can go out and spend more money and collect top players.

"I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money."

Two years on, the German manager - in 2018 alone - has splashed out £140 million to sign two players, sanctioning a £65 million pound move for Alisson Becker from AS Roma as well the £75 million transfer of Virgil Van Dijk. The pair, as a result, became the most expensive goalkeeper and defender in the world at the moment.

Other high-profile signings at Liverpool in recent times also include the £43.7 million acquisition of Fabinho from AS Monaco and the £57 million purchase of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig. Having been quizzed on what his thoughts are on what his critics have to say, Klopp, as quoted by Liverpool Echo declared: "That's the problem these days, hey? Whatever bull**** you say, nobody will forget it.

"On the other side, it's still kind of true. I couldn't have imagined since then that the world would change like it has.

"Two years ago £100million was a crazy number. Since then the world has changed completely.

"In this moment we sign the most expensive keeper, bam, bam, bam, all that stuff, there will be a few nice little transfers (at other clubs) in this window still. We are still pretty early, it will happen a lot."

With the new signings coming in, Liverpool's net spend since Jurgen Klopp joined the club now stands at 147 million.
