The former Barcelona man has been harshly criticized for his tendency to overreact when opponents touch him.

Neymar's diving antics have caused harsh criticism throughout the world, especially since the footballer is quite keen on exaggerating whenever a player tries to tackle him.

During the game against Mexico, Neymar drove El Tri footballers crazy, forcing defender Miguel Layun to lift him from the pitch at some point of the match.

Even so, there are some that believe that Neymar is one of the best players in the world right now. Former team-mate Luis Suárez stepped up to defend him in a press conference earlier today.

According to Suárez, people should focus on Neymar's virtues rather than his flaws, and by doing that, they would appreciate his contribution to the game.

"Everyone knows what kind of player Neymar is. I speak about him as a player, he's just spectacular, truly admirable," Suárez said.

Suárez also hinted that it doesn't matter what Neymar does to silence his haters over his constant diving, especially because they will always find a flaw in his game to take digs at.

"There's always going to be criticism. There are people that just don't like his style, and some do. But if he does something wrong, the ref must take proper steps to prevent it, and now they have cameras to help, so it's easier. I don't care if he gets hit or not, I just enjoy watching him play," Suárez added.

The Uruguayan striker is set to face France in the World Cup Quarter final, while his former team-mate will face Belgium.
