Luis Suarez was brought to Liverpool for a huge €26.5M transfer fee but he isn’t concerned about his price tag. The ex-Ajax striker experienced a dream debut for Liverpool and is now eying more success.
“Ajax made me realize that it is important to keep a perspective on life and football at the same time,” Luis Suarez told LFC Weekly as he downplayed the prospect of being under pressure to perform.

The Uruguayan international, who scored over 80 goals for Ajax in 110 matches, insisted that English Premier League football wasn’t meant to scare him but to entertain him as a player. He continued:

“I’m aware that the fee Liverpool paid for me was big. But, I am not going to worry about that. There will be pressure from the outside for me to succeed.

“However, every time I set foot on a football field, I want to enjoy it. There’s no point being here if I didn’t enjoy it.

“Some players can become obsessed with the pressure and then try to deal with it. But, I think that it’s important to be yourself. Just try your best and believe in yourself.”

Luis Suarez experienced a dream debut on Wednesday night as he came off the bench to score a goal and round up Liverpool’s 2-0 vital win over Stoke City in the Premier League. The striker will now come under the spotlight as Liverpool will face Chelsea on Sunday.
