Preview

With Groups A and B now decided, all attention will turn to the action in Group C this Tuesday. At this point, only Peru have been eliminated, while France have already secured their spot in the round of 16. Although Denmark are viewed as the favorites to join Les Bleus, Australia still do have a fighting chance after earning a 1-1 draw with the Danes, and will also hope that France can do them a favor to help them sneak into the next round.

Denmark are 90 minutes away from achieving their first round of 16 spot since 2002, when they were thrashed 3-0 by England. They haven't been scoring goals in abundance - with just two so far - but they're getting the job done, and that's all that matters. However, finishing runners-up could see them take on a Croatia side who have exceeded expecations, while if they do pip France to top berth, they could take on a young and ambitious Nigerian side, or possibly debutants Iceland as well as a struggling Argentina if things go well for Lionel Messi & Co.

They will be missing experienced midfielder William Kvist after he suffered two fractured ribs and a punctured lung after a collision during the Peru game, and Yussuf Poulsen, who scored Denmark's goal in a 1-0 win over the Peruvians, will be suspended for this game.

France, meanwhile, have earned six points out of six. Didier Deschamps's side haven't hit full stride just yet, but regardless have managed to see off both a tough Australian side who refused to give up as well as a Peru outfit who tried valiantly to hold out for a draw. Still, that hasn't prevented several key players, including Paul Pogba and Antoine Griezmann from being singled out for criticism, but young star Kylian Mbappe has had a solid tournament to date and made history as France's youngest ever player to score at a World Cup.

Squad rotation could see Pogba rested for this game, while Steve Mandanda is anticipated to feature in between the posts in lieu of Hugo Lloris.

Will France make it three wins out of three as they await their next opponents - which could be Nigeria, Iceland, or possibly Argentina? Or will Denmark snatch top spot and then sit back to see the outcome of Group D's interesting final matchday?
