Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas: Nothing Serious Happened In Tunnel Against Everton
Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas has admitted that he was involved in a discussion with the referee during the half-time interval of the Gunner’s game against Everton, but insisted that ‘nothing serious happened’.

Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas confronted Referee Lee Mason subsequent to his decision to let Everton's Luis Saha's controversial goal stand
Fabregas showed signs of fury when his side went down 1-0 following what looked like a controversial goal from Everton’s Luis Saha. The Spaniard was convinced that the goal was offside, and thus made his complaints to Referee Lee Mason, who obviously did not reverse his decision to allow the goal.
This caused Fabregas to follow the referee in the tunnel at half-time, making all efforts to justify his point; but his action was rather judged as inacceptable by the Everton manager David Moyes. Coach Arsene Wenger initially denied that Cesc had even spoken to the referee at the break, but the Arsenal midfielder came out with a brighter version of the story.
“There has been much talk of me saying things to the officials,” Fabregas said. “All I can say is that I have respect for match officials.
“Their job is a very difficult one and their decisions are final. Yes, I was upset at half-time; so too were about 60,000 Arsenal supporters in the stadium. We were 1-0 down to a very good Everton side, to a goal which we felt was offside.
“Of course I am going to be upset... Many things are said in the heat of the moment. Clearly, the officials feel that nothing serious happened, as I understand the referee has not included anything in his match report.”
