The Argentine ace gave his insight on Argentina's disappointing debut in the 2018 FIFA World Cup against the Scandinavian side.

Visibly concerned after dropping two points against Iceland, Lionel Messi apologized to the fans for missing yet another penalty against Iceland.

Speaking in the mixed zone after the game, Messi seemed baffled for not being able to win this game, especially after having his PK denied by Hannes Halldorsson.

"We were better than them, we tried and we couldn't deliver. Missing that penalty really affected me. We struggled to create chances, but now we have to go out there and beat Croatia," Messi said.

Messi tried and tried to score, but it just wasn't in the cards today.

The Argentine ace asked fans to trust the team's chances of success, since they can still figure how to damage their rivals in their next two games.

"We can't go nuts about this. This is just the beginning and we knew it wouldn't be easy. I'm angry because we deserved to win, even if there's a lot of work to get done if we want to improve," Messi added.
