On Monday, Eden Hazard gave Belgium fans a scare after he limped off in a pre-World Cup friendly. The Chelsea ace grabbed an assist en route to a 4-1 win over Costa Rica but he left everyone sweating after coming off with an apparent injury.
The Premier League enjoyed a fine display but was thus taken off after 70 minutes. It should also be noted that the Red Devils ace left the game before that -- an encounter with Egypt -- early as well after taking a knock to the knee, resulting in worries over his fitness.
As for that previous injury, Hazard appears to blame one man for that unfortunate incident in the victory over the Pharaohs. That man is none other than his own sibling, Thorgan Hazard.
According to Eden's younger brother, the 27-year-old holds him responsible for the injury due to a poor pass. Thorgan said, as per the Evening Standard: "It is not the time to take risks. He had done enough in the game to be able to come off. Eden said it was my fault.
"When I wanted to pass to him, it fell a bit short and the defender caught his knee a little bit. But I don't think it is anything serious.
"Eden has grown in strength during the three friendlies that we've played. He has shown he can take the team to the top. We've seen we need Eden at his best if we are going to do anything in the tournament."
Belgium boss Roberto Martinez was quick to squash fears of a long-term layoff for their key attacker after leaving the Costa Rica win. The national team boss revealed that Hazard's knock was nothing severe and will thus not put his participation in Russia under risk.
The European darkhorse begins their campaign against Panama on the 18th. They will also lock horns with England in a tricky match, but that will be their final group-stage tie.
