Done deal? It is not even close!

Jean Pierre Barnes, agent of Olympique Lyon skipper and attacker Nabil Fekir, has denied reports that Liverpool is on the verge of completing a deal to sign his client. It has become an open secret that the 24-year-old Frenchman is a target for Jurgen Klopp and the idea of the German manager bringing him to Anfield may well be on the cards.

Latest speculations suggested that Fekir, alongside his agent, were due to fly out to Liverpool on Sunday to complete a medical for his purported move to materialize. However, this new development has been categorically refuted by Barnes who insisted that the door is open for his client to move to any club should the right offer be received by Lyon.

Speaking to local media outlet Le Progres, he said: “I did not leave Marseille (this weekend)."

"I am with my family, but I will be clear, we will go with Nabil to Liverpool or elsewhere when there is an agreement with Lyon and if Jean-Michel Aulas gives the green light… Liverpool’s interest exists, but for the moment nothing is done and other clubs could come in. The window will be long.”
