The Red Devils have been dealt an injury scare.

Vincent Kompany caused a few heads to turn after an apparent injury forced his substitution in the early minutes of his side’s friendly encounter against Portugal. Although little changed with regards to the final outcome of the game after his ejection, there is a cause for concern in the Belgium camp with the World Cup just two weeks away.

Kompany has been devoid of injuries since the beginning of the year and actively played a role in Manchester City’s success this season. However, his proneness to injury could be a huge setback for Roberto Martinez’s side who stands as one of the favorites for the title at Russia.

The Red Devils will begin their quest at the tournament against Panama on June 18 inside the Fisht Olympic Stadium. They will subsequently take on Tunisia and then England in their last Group G game.
