Tributes to the the French manager poured in moments after the announcement was made.

The world of football is still in shock after Zinedine Zidane stepped down as Real Madrid's boss. Some say that it was the best way to put an end to what has been a very successful stint as Los Blancos' manager, but others believe he could have stayed.

Even if some experts saw this coming, the reactions from his players hint that they were expecting to get together with Zizou for one more season. The common ground between all of them was their gratitude towards Zidane, as the following social media posts show.
