On Friday, Andres Iniesta confirmed that he will be leaving Barcelona at the end of this season. Although this announcement from the player was inevitable and also foreseen, it was still an emotional affair.
The Spaniard made his decision official in a press conference in front of reporters, his manager, team-mates, and family memebers. Saying goodbye to your club of 22 years is not an easy thing and so it was understandable to see the midfielder in tears.

And as expected for a player of his calibre, tributes came in pouring for the iconic Blaugrana ace. While this is not the end of his career, as he is likely to continue playing in China, seeing a legend leave Europe to see out the remainder of his career is always a sad occasion.
Everything from his Barcelona numbers to his trophy count was brought up, as Twitter paid homage to a legend of the beautiful game. Check out the best tweets.

There won’t be another like Iniesta. Not simply in football terms but on a personal level as well. He transcends the traditional rivalry and hatred which exists in the game. He’s unique; a legend not only at Barcelona but in football in general. Gracias Don @andresiniesta8.

I have no words to describe you @andresiniesta8. I really wish you wouldn’t leave because we still need you. But we have to respect your decision and you will leave Barcelona with the respect you deserve. An absolute legend. Greatest of all time. Don Iniesta. #GraciasIniesta pic.twitter.com/6LdrFg199v
