Die Roten's exec referred to the last meetings against Los Blancos when asked about his prediction for the tournament's semis.

mWhile some Bayern fans might disagree, team exec Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes that Real Madrid should be considered as the favorite to win their UCL semi-final showdown.

The former footballer stated that due to Real Madrid's recent wins at Allianz Arena, Los Blancos have bigger chances of reaching the final.

"They are the favorites, but we want to reach the final. It will be tough because they are the favorites. The important thing will be for us to achieve a win at Munich this time, because they beat us with Guardiola and Ancelotti coaching us," Rummenigge stated.

Rummenigge added that winning two straight Champions League titles makes Real Madrid a team from a different category.

"There's no excitement about this tie. We know we'll be facing the best team in the world. They have won back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles," Bayern's director added.

Speaking about Carlo Ancelotti, who coached both teams in the past, Rummenigge dismissed any reports about a bad relationship with the Italian boss, who he fired earlier in the 2017-18 season.

"He's a great coach and an even better person. I hope he gets back to coaching this summer. I only have one complaint: he should have learned to speak German," Rummenigge added.

Before the press conference concluded, Rummenigge revealed that the team's transfer business makes him proud, because they have reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League without the support of Russian or Arab tycoons.

"Our philosophy is different from Manchester City's or PSG's, and that's something worthy of notice," the exec concluded.
