Good things, indeed, do not last forever.

Manchester City put their disappointment in the recent run of matches to bed by returning to winning ways in the English Premier League on Saturday. Goals from Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, and Ilkay Gundogan put Pep Guardiola's men three points away from clinching the English top-flight league title.

Tottenham Hotspur, despite playing as hosts, was only able to get a consolation goal via Christian Eriksen. Prior to the weekend’s frustrating outcome, Mauricio Pochettino’s men had failed to be on the losing side in the domestic league in 14-games.

The run stretches as far back as December 2017 where they picked up the pace after they coincidentally lost to Manchester City via a 4-1 scoreline. Nonetheless, Spurs managed 11 wins and three draws before being halted by the Blues’ back-to-back victory in the weekend's encounter.

The last time the North London club managed more in top flight football action was back in 1967 where they went 20 games unbeaten.
