Preview

Liverpool heads into this game on the back of an excellent win in the Champions League. The Reds beat Man City 3-0 in Europe on Wednesday in their quarter-final clash. As a result, the club now has one foot in the semi-finals.

Their confidence will be on a high, but don’t Klopp to risk a lot in this fixture despite it being a derby. The Merseyside giant’s points tally means they are all but guaranteed a spot in the Champions League next season, though they stand a great chance of beating Man United to a second-place finish.

It will thus not be a surprise to see Mohamed Salah on the bench for this fixture. The Egyptian ace has a whopping 29 goals in the English top-flight but came down with an injury in the win over Man City.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could start after his impressive display in the Champions League triumph. Joel Matip, Emre Can, Adam Lallana, and Joe Gomez all remain on the sidelines.

The homes side could be without Idrissa Gueye for this tie due to a muscle tear. Ashley Williams, however, could make a return in weekend derby.
