This will leave Klopp with a headache ahead of their Champions League showdown with Guardiola's men.

Liverpool is gearing up for their important clash with Man City. The only two remaining English clubs in the Champions League will lock horns in the quarter-final stage, with the Reds aiming to eliminate the soon-to-be Premier League champion.

Unfortunately for Klopp’s side, they have been rocked by three injury blows ahead of Wednesday’s clash. The first one is the season-ending injury suffered by Joel Matip.

The defender will not play for the Merseyside giant this term again, as confirmed by Liverpool, after picking up a thigh injury in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace. He was able to complete the 90 minutes but will require surgery which will sadly earn him a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Another player who picked up an injury in Liverpool’s weekend victory at Selhurst Park, Adam Lallana, will miss the clash with Guardiola’s men. The Englishman picked up a hamstring injury in Saturday’s game only six minutes after coming on and is now likely to miss both the first and second legs of this last-eight fixture.

The Times also reports that Liverpool is sweating over the fitness of Emre Can. The German midfielder sat out Saturday’s triumph over the Eagles after hurting his back prior to the international break but is yet to return to training.

If Can is also forced to miss Wednesday’s Anfield clash, it will be an extra huge blow for a side that had already lost Joe Gomez during the international break. Klopp will have a selection headache for this crucial tie.
