The Special One had kind words for the Swedish ace, who is expected to make his debut with LA Galaxy this Saturday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's departure from Manchester United left a few broken hearts, one of them belonging to none other than José Mourinho.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Special One heaped praise on the departed striker, erasing all doubts regarding a complicated relationship between them.

Mourinho even compared Ibrahimovic's departure to one of the saddest moments he's experienced in his managerial career.

"For me it's always sad to see a big player leave. I remember coaching Inter when Luis Figo played his last game, and that was one of the saddest moments I've experienced as a coach. It's a pity to see them leave. It's the same thing with Zlatan. He's the kind of player that European football will miss," Mourinho said.

The Portuguese boss hinted that the North American league will make the most out of this transfer, since Zlatan can become a role model for their young players.

"This couple of years with Galaxy will be good for him, and they will be very good for American football, because of what he can do, what he can teach and attract, because of his passion for football, the level of professionalism he always has...the MLS and the U.S. as a football country will get more from Zlatan compared to what he will get, because it will be a way for him to enjoy his last years as a player," Mourinho added.
