Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard is excited about the entry of newly-appointed first-team coach Steve Clarke. He believes his partnership with Kenny Dalglish and assistant manager Sammy Lee will be a terrific one.
As a result of the Reds’ inefficiency this season, the staff decided to improve the strategic plans within the team by landing Steve Clarke as the man to support Coach Dalglish in his management. Clarke’s CV is empowered with previous positions at Newcastle United, Chelsea and West Ham United. His experience is hence not to be questioned, and captain Steven Gerrard has absolutely no doubts upon his capabilities to help Liverpool return to winning ways.

"I think he's a great appointment,” Gerrard told LFC Weekly. “From what I've seen, he has supported some fantastic managers in his career. He played at the top level and has a vast experience in the game.

"It's early days yet (to judge his contributions at Liverpool), but the training sessions have been good. If he can come in and help us tighten up defensively, and help us improve going forward, (then) he'll be a fantastic addition to the coaching staff.

"It's exciting to see how his relationship will work with Kenny (Dalglish). Hopefully, the pair of them along with Sammy Lee can help guide us up the league. Between them, that trio have plenty of experience and should make a very good coaching team.”

Liverpool’s next Premier League game takes place at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday against Wolverhampton Wanderers. They currently lie in 13th place with only 26 points—4 points above the relegation zone.
