Jose Mourinho and his men will aim to put behind their shock exit from the Champions League by going all out for the only trophy they are still in contention to win.

Two late goals by Sevilla’s Wissam Ben Yedder rattled the Old Trafford audience and denied the 2008 UEFA Champions League winners the chance to progress to the quarterfinal of the competition, despite Romelu Lukaku pulling one back for them. It was generally a dreary outing for the Red Devils as they saw their reluctance to attack punished when they least expected.

MATCH PREVIEW

On Saturday, Manchester United will have the opportunity to push towards winning the final of the FA Cup by hosting Brighton and Hove Albion in the quarter-final match-up. Prior to the surprise defeat against Sevilla, Jose Mourinho’s men were in a fine run of form with a five-game unbeaten run under their belt.

They will, however, fancy the idea of returning to winnings ways as soon as possible in order to calm the nerves of agitated fans. One man who poses to make a significant contribution to this cause is the in-form Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian forward has been impressive in recent times and may as well continue his fine exploits in the FA Cup having scored 10 goals in his last 11 appearances in the competition. Midfielder Paul Pogba, who faced huge criticisms for his lethargic display in the mid-week UCL game, is also expected to step up.

For Brighton, the weekend cup game will undoubtedly be a tough test of their character. However, Chris Hutton’s men should be hugely motivated by the fact that they endured a seven-game unbeaten run before losing 2-0 to Everton last week.

The current EPL Manager of the Month himself will seek to put his side right back on track but it will take some doing coming up against a wounded Manchester United team. The last encounter between his side and Mourinho's men ended in a defeat after Lewis Dunk deflected Ashley Young's shot into his own net. Payback on the cards?
