The Swede's all-time top scorer might make one final cameo appearance with his National Team this summer...

Years ago, Zlatan Ibrahimovic stated that a World Cup without him wasn't worth watching. With the 2018 tournament just around the corner, it seems like the Swedish footballer wants to have one last hurrah with his National Team.

Speaking in a marketing gala for one of his sponsors, "The Lion" referred to the possibility of staging a comeback with the Nordic side, which is set to play against Mexico, Germany and South Korea in the tournament that will be played in Russian soil.

"The thoughts are there the whole time, but if I want to, I'll be there. I want to get to the point where I can perform as I haven't been able to take part so much during the season," Ibrahimovic said.

His return to the National Team is something that Janne Andersson, the Swede's coach, has thought about, but he needs clarification from Ibrahimovic about his availability for the tournament.

"If a player changes his mind, then he has to talk to me, then we can speak about it. I won't change my stance on that subject, as of now, he's still retired from the National Team to me," Andersson said regarding Ibra's future with the yellow-and-blue side.

Ibrahimovic's last game with the Swedes took place in the 2016 Euro. He remains the team's all-time top scorer with 62 goals in 116 apps.
