The Liverpool icon was being teased while driving, but has since apologized for his actions.

Premier League legend Jamie Carragher has landed himself in controversy after being caught on camera spitting at a 14-year-old Man United fan and her father. The Liverpool icon was in this altercation with the two shortly after the Merseyside giant’s 2-1 loss at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

This incident occurred while the Sky Sports pundit was driving, heading back from the Red Devils homeground. The girl’s dad was teasing the Englishman over his former team’s defeat when the 40-year-old rolled down the window and gobbed in the direction of the little girl and her parent.

A video released by the Mirrow shows how everything unfolded. The girls said his spit hit her in the forehead in an ordeal which left her in tears.

Jamie stated that he was one of many to taunt him after the final whistle, leading to his outburst. Nonetheless, he admitted to being wrong and phoned the girl after the incident to apologise.

The former defender will sit down with Sky to discuss his future after this ugly occurrence but will not be sacked. He will spend two weeks off screen, but that was decided upon prior to this incident making the news.
