Pep Guardiola's failure to comply with FA regulations has gotten him in trouble, as the Spanish boss will have to pay a fine of $27,000 for using a yellow ribbon during Premier League games.
The gesture, which is meant to be a pacific protest for political incarcerations in Catalunya, fails to comply with the FA's regulations regarding the kit and advertising signs seen in the technical area of the pitch.
Guardiola admitted breaching the FA's regulations, but will continue to use the yellow ribbon away in pre and post-match press conferences, as well as in international games.
"Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been fined £20,000 ($27,000) and warned as to his future conduct after admitting an FA charge for wearing a political message, specifically a yellow ribbon, in breach of The FA's kit and advertising regulations," the FA stated in a press release.
Guardiola didn't apologize for the gesture, since he believes that he's not breaking any rules, but has also admitted that he will cease using the ribbon during games to "observe" the FA's current regulation.
The FA is yet to inform what punishment Guardiola could face if he keeps on wearing the ribbon during games, or if his conduct in pre and post-match pressers will get him fined once again.
