The prestigious global tournament kicks off in exactly three months. Ready?

The countdown is on. With the regular football season approaching its end in most countries, football fans have another reason to be reeling with excitement. In exactly 100 days, hosts Russia will take on Saudi Arabia at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium to officially kick-start the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

However, some powerful personalities and familiar faces certainly can’t wait any longer. President of Russia, Vladimir Putin and FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, literally set the ball rolling in a promotional video featured on FIFA's official website and Youtube.

The office setting in which the pair were found at the time did not deter them from participating in a back and forth keepy uppy session with the all-new adidas Telstar 18 – the official ball for Russia 2018. 

Also in the video were individual skits of ex-football superstars from the participating countries. The most notable ones include Diego Maradona, Ronaldo, Miroslav Klose, Valderamma, Jay Jay Okocha, Carles Puyol, Peter Schmeichel, David Trezeguet, and a host of other stars. This year's edition of the World Cup promises to be like no other with recurrent controversies in matches set to be curbed with the of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR). The technology has been tested in numerous leagues all over the world and although it has failed to perform to satisfication in some cases, it is expected to be ready to be debuted at the world's biggest sporting event this year.
