The outspoken right back referred to PSG's chances of overturning the 3-1 deficit they picked up against Los Blancos.

Dani Alves' press conferences usually come with something good to print, but this time the variety of topics chosen by the Brazilian left some members of the press confused.

The former Barcelona man replied to a question regarding Davide Astori's tragic demise, and while he showed sympathy for his close ones, he refused to make a martyr out of the former Fiorentina captain, as he believes there are other issues that should be considered as more tragic.

"I send all his relatives a big hug. I think that his work here was over and he's in a better place. But even so, there's people dying everywhere due to other problems, there's kids dying of starvation, and they are overlooked. We're here temporarily, and we have to be prepared for the time of our departure to come. I feel sorry for all his relatives, and it's sad because he was a colleague, but I'm sure his close ones are more affected by his demise," Alves stated.

Alves' words contrast with the heart-breaking tributes paid by some of his colleagues, such as Gianluigi Buffon, who referred to the late Italian defender as "one of the greatest football personalities he came across".

Speaking about Tuesday's game against Real Madrid, Alves shared his views on how PSG can eliminate Los Blancos and what it would mean for PSG in the current stage of the competition.

"We need to eliminate an opponent such as Real Madrid for the experts to take us seriously. I've said it before, I didn't come here only to live in the city of Paris, I came to compete and to be a part of this club's history," Alves said.

"The first leg showed us that we can eliminate them. I believe we were better than them, but we have to know that they are used to that scenario. They need ten minutes to change the course of a game, so we have to work hard for 95 minutes or more to increase our chances,"the player added.

Before the press conference concluded, Alves admitted that Neymar's absence will be key to decide the tie, but the team can't sit down and weep because he will not be around to help.
