The Blues found themselves on the wrong side of history this time around in the first half of Sunday's game against Manchester City.

For a club that is fighting hard to sneak into the top-four of the English Premier League, many expected a better showing. However, that was not the case for Antonio Conte’s men who played with relatively less urgency in the first half of proceeding at the Etihad Stadium.

The Londoners were totally outplayed as Manchester City ended the first 45 minutes with 76% of ball possession after putting in 467 successful passes from a total of 508. Chelsea’s woes were rehashed in the fact that they failed to register a single shot in the entire half – the team’s first time since doing so in the 2003/2004 season.

The Citizens, on the other hand, attempted eight shots with just a single one finding the target in the first 45 minutes.
