The Chilean returns to the Champions League with his new club and will be hoping to enjoy an unforgettable debut.

Man United’s clash with Sevilla in the Champions League could see Alexis Sanchez make his debut in this competition with his new club. The Chilean earned a promotion from Europa League upon leaving Arsenal and is predictably eager to return to Europe’s top-tier club competition.

The South American will take to the field at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, a stadium which he has been to on numerous occasions in the past. Once a Barcelona player, he locked horns with  Los Hispalenses five times during his Camp Nou stay.

The 29-year-old was never on the losing side of a clash with Sevilla, enjoying victories in all five meetings. Furthermore, he scored in both the home and away run-ins with this Spanish opposition in his final season with the Blaugrana.

Sanchez currently only has one goal in five appearances for the Red Devils. These run of games has seen Mourinho’s men lose twice in the Premier League, but the Chilean remains a scary goalscoring threat.

Just ask Sevilla boss Vincenzo Montella who said his men might have to “tie him up with rope”, as per BBC Sport, in order to contain Alexis. With the Copa America winner in the lineup, scoring should come easier for Man United.
