James Rodriguez fancies Bayern Munich’s chances of winning the UEFA Champions League this season.

If all goes according to the ex-Real Madrid man’s script, he could become the first player in history to have won the UCL three consecutive times with two different sides. However before that could be actualized, Bayern Munich would need some level of consistency coming up against some heavyweights in the European competition.

The Bavarians will host Besiktas in the first leg of the Round of 16 ties at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday. Talismanic midfielder of the side, James Rodriguez, was rested in the team's triumph against Wolfsburg on Saturday and is expected to be in the mix of things in the mid-week cup game.

Speaking to UEFA.com, the former Real Madrid and AS Monaco star emphasized his desire to see Jupp Heynckes’ side lift the European trophy this season.

"I think the time is right for a club like this to win three trophies again. Of course, we're in a position to win the treble. Why not?

Regarding his move to Germany, the player said:

"I feel good here because I get more playing time and I'm allowed to play in a way I want it. Munich is a quiet city and people are not as football crazy as in other places.

"I'm happy here, we have an experienced trainer with unique qualities, and he also speaks Spanish, which makes it easier for me. "

James Rodriguez has scored four goals and has assisted six times since joining the German club from Real Madrid. His side is currently on track to win another treble having done so in 2013 with Jupp Heynckes in charge.
