The Spanish goalkeeper is no longer the first-choice goalkeeper for Sergio Conceicao, but will he change his mind for the key home game against the Reds?

This year, Porto fans were shocked by Sergio Conceicao's decision to drop Iker Casillas from the Starting XI in favor of José Sá. Needless to say, the Spaniard didn't take it quite well, and rumors about a departure from the Dragons began.

With the upcoming match against Liverpool, a number of Porto's fans have started the debate: who should defend the team's net against Salah, Firmino and Co.? Let's have a look at each goalkeeper's stats.

Sá 's displays give him the upper hand over

25-year-old goalkeeper José Sá took the team's goalkeeping duties by storm, and it seems like he will end up forcing Casillas out of the team by the end of the season. The Portuguese shot-stopper is still yet to keep a clean sheet in the UEFA Champions League, where he's conceded seven times in four games. Despite those numbers in the continental competition, his performances in the Portuguese league have been top-notch, as he's only allowed seven goals in 13 outings.

Sá's first UCL start came against RB Leipzig, where a major blunder saw the Dragons lose the game. (Stats per Transfermarkt.com)

Casillas seems ready for one last UCL hurrah

The former Real Madrid goalie was demoted during the course of the season, limiting his performances to Cup games since October 1, 2017. Conceicao's decision to drop Casillas might be due to the player's lack of commitment to the club, as he refused to sign a contract extension with the Dragons as he entered the final year of his deal. Nevertheless, the player's form hasn't been as baffling, since he's kept 11 clean sheets in 17 games played so far.

Casillas' stats are quite respectable, even if he's failed to face top-caliber opponents (Stats per Transfermarkt.com)

It will be up to Conceicao to decide which goalkeeper gets the starting nod, but we leave this question for you to answer: Would you prefer a seasoned goalkeeper or a rising talent for a match as crucial as this one?
