The Blues have pipped Juventus to first place in Serie A again after winning 4:1 at home to Lazio.

Despite going behind inside the first three minutes, Maurizio Sarri’s men fought on till the end to keep their hope of securing this season’s Scudetto alive. A goal by Jose Callejon two minutes to the end of the first half ensured that the hosts entered the second 45 minutes level on score.

An own-goal by Lazio defender, Wallace dos Santos, handed the lead to Napoli on a silver platter on the 54th-minute mark whiles midfielder Piotr Zielinski put the Naples club two goals ahead just two minutes after the mishap. The in-form forward, Dries Mertens, extended his goal tally for the league season to 14 in 23 matches after rounding off the game for the hosts following a wonderful team effort.

As things stand, the Stadio San Paolo outfit now leads the Serie A with 63 points, a point adrift second-placed Juventus. They host RB Leipzig in the Round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League in five days.
