Antonio Conte's second season as Chelsea's boss hasn't been easy. Between his war of words against Jose Mourinho and the team's recent dip in form, the Italian tactician hasn't been able to deal with a key aspect of his team: injuries.
One of those players who has been sidelined with an injury is Alvaro Morata. The Spanish footballer has already missed quite a few games, and according to his boss' words, he could miss even more due to a lower back pain.
"He has this problem, we are trying to find a solution to solve the pain in his back. You ask me how long he is out, maybe he needs one day, one month, or is out for the season, I don’t know. I am a bit worried as we know the importance of the player," Conte stated.
Morata's absence may give Olivier Giroud a chance to start his first game for the Blues, due to the team's lack of strikers. Asked about his depleted attack, Conte didn't want to admit the team could have used one more striker during the recently concluded transfer window, even if he managed to sign Giroud.

After successfully recovering the Premier League title last season, Chelsea could drop to fifth place if they can't manage to beat West Brom on Monday and Tottenham defeats Arsenal. Needless to say, Conte's job could be on the line if he can't steer the Blues back to winning ways after two straight losses.
