Real Madrid has received a huge blow ahead of their mouth-watering clash with PSG in the Champions League. Influential full-back Dani Carvajal will be suspended for the first leg which will be held at Santiago Bernabeu.
The of Europe’s biggest clubs have been paired against each other in the round of 16, with the already underperforming defending champion being handed another handicap. This comes after the Spaniard was handed a two-game ban.
Earlier in the competition, in the penultimate group-stage game, the right-back deliberately earned a yellow card so as to be suspended in the final game and not later on in the knockout stage. This move did not sit well with UEFA, with European football’s governing body suspending the 26-year-old for two games.
The first one was the clash with Dortmund. Los Merengues submitted an appeal in order to have him available on February 14. Unfortunately, Zidane’s side lost their appeal, as announced by UEFA on Tuesday.
UEFA suspend Carvajal for the first game of the tie against PSG because he deliberately tried to get the yellow card during the match against APOEL.

This means the task of stopping Neymar, Mbappe, and Cavani just got more difficult for the Spanish heavyweight. A subsequent defeat would make Real Madrid’s season even worse.
