The 28-year-old reportedly cost the North London side $79m. As for the duration of his deal, the League Cup finalist merely stated that it was a “long-term contract”. However, it is believed that Wenger’s side forked out additional money in order to secure his services.
The Evening Standard reports that Arsenal paid the $1.8m loan fee that will take Michy Batshuayi to Dortmund in order to free Aubameyang to complete his transfer. BVB did not want to sanction his sale until they found a replacement, with that man being Chelsea’s Belgian forward.

Nonetheless, $1.8m is nothing when you look at what the North London side is getting. Even the stats paint a flattering picture of the former St. Etienne striker.
A comparison between Aubameyang and the Gunners’ top scorers since 2015/16 shows he has scored 45 more goals than their most prolific forward – Alexis Sanchez – over those last three seasons. Fans sure wouldn’t mind paying Batshuayi’s loan fee to get this lethal attacker.
