Chelsea's path to this juncture certainly hasn't been easy. It took penalties for them to see off Championship outfit Norwich after failing to find a breakthrough after 210 minutes of play and seeing Michy Batshuayi's goal cancelled out in the 90th minute. The replay at Stamford Bridge also had Spanish duo Alvaro Morata (who actually replaced goalscorer Batshuayi) and Pedro both sent off in extra time, much to Antonio Conte's fury.

Morata, along with Thibaut Courtois and Willian are expected to miss this game due to inury. It's been a really rough start to 2018 for Chelsea, who have won just one game inside regulation time since the start of the new year.

By contrast, upcoming foes Newcastle United have seen a slight improvement in form as of late, with just one loss in their last four games across all competiitons.
