Real Madrid may be 16 points behind Barcelona in La Liga, but today, Cristiano Ronaldo had reasons to celebrate.
The Portuguese ace scored a couple of penalties for Los Blancos, setting a new record in the domestic competition while at it.
CR7 was tied with Real Madrid legend Hugo Sánchez as the player to take the most penalties in the tournament's history. Today, he transformed his 72nd penalty, breaking the tie with the Mexican striker.
Added to that, he surpassed the 100-goal mark from the spot, considering goals scored with club and country.

It may be late for Real Madrid to fight for the title in La Liga, but they will surely try to put up a show in the second half of the season.
