The Gunners ace is destined to leave Arsenal, with Man City currently leading the race for his signature.

It’s only a matter of time before Alexis Sanchez’s Arsenal career officially comes to an end. As confirmed by Arsene Wenger in a press conference, the Chilean will not sign an extension to his deal which expires this summer, thus forcing an exit.

Both Manchester United and Man City are after the South American ace, but Jose Mourinho’s late attempt to lure Alexis to Old Trafford appears to be too little too late. The Copa America winner’s heart is set on an Etihad Stadium move to reunite with Guardiola.

And now Sanchez’s family has touched down in London to prepare for the 29-year-old’s transfer. This is as reported by Goal’s Chris Wheatley who wrote that the player’s older brother, Humberto, touched down in Heathrow with other relatives.

The north London club wants $48m for the Chilean, with the player’s agent wanting approximately $7m to facilitate the move. City, despite their riches, is not willing to pay this much for a soon-to-be free agent.

Meanwhile, Wenger is searching for an ideal replacement for Sanchez. Bordeaux winger Malcolm is being tipped with an Emirates Stadium move after reportedly snubbing Tottenham in favor of the Gunners, while Thomas Lemar remains a candidate.

Both Man City and Arsenal will be in action on Sunday. The league leader travels to Liverpool in a highly-anticipated clash, while Wenger’s side visits Bournemouth in the latest round.
