Mina will make history for Barcelona, as he will become the first Colombian ever to play an official match for Los Blaugranas

Contrary to other teams that are currently not living their finest hour, Barcelona wants to extend their dominance in La Liga with a new footballer. Today, the team's Twitter feed revealed the signing of 23-year-old Yerry Mina, one of the best center backs in South America.

Mina will put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half year deal with Los Culés, after spending the last two years playing for Palmeiras. The Spanish club agreed to pay a $14M fee to the Brazilian entity in order to materialize the transfer.

Mina joins Barcelona after playing 197 games and scoring 22 goals. Barça's scouts refer to him as a "quick, ball-playing defender, who uses his aerial prowess to score goals."

Mina's signing adds depth to the center back position, where the team has struggled due to the various injuries suffered by some of their players such as Samuel Umtiti and Javier Mascherano.
