PSG has reportedly named their price tag for Arsenal target Julian Draxler. This is according to The Sun, reporting that the Ligue 1 side is ready to offload the German despite his impressive start to life in Paris.
The 24-year-old is talented but has found playing time hard to come by due to the summer arrival of Neymar. With the 2018 World Cup right around the corner, Draxler knows he needs more games to compete for a spot in Low’s squad.
Arsenal has thus contacted Les Parisiens once again over the player’s availability – this is not the first time Wenger’s side has inquired about Draxler. PSG is willing to sell the German for $53.5m.
The north London club has hinted that they will only make a move for the 24-year-old if they sell Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean appears destined to leave the Emirates for Man City after refusing to sign a new deal with the Gunners.
The Chilean is keen on a January exit. With Sanchez’s contract ending this summer, Wenger is open to selling the 29-year-old in the winter, but that will not happen until a quality replacement has been found.
Draxler is reportedly Wenger’s favorite, but there is interest in his services elsewhere in the Premier League. The article claims that Liverpool is another option for the attacker.
Both Arsenal and the Reds will be in action over the festive period. Klopp’s side will lock horn with Swansea in the last game of Boxing Day, while the Gunners will have to wait until Thursday for their trip to Crystal Palace.
