Match Facts & Stats

Preview

Two back to back wins have helped Dortmund rebound after a difficult period. Die Schwarzgelben hadn't won a Bundesliga match since the end of September, and crashed out of the Champions League after a frustrating campaign. Save for a 5-0 thrashing of third-tier side Magdeburg in the DFB-Pokal, Dortmund were on a winless streak stretching back over two months, and thus, the club's board finally opted to part ways with struggling manager Peter Bosz.

Since his replacement, Peter Stöger took over, the team seeem to have turned a corner. They've now vaulted into third spot in the Bundesliga, and will be seeking to get revenge on Bayern for their earlier Klassiker loss this term. However, key striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a major doubt due to muscular problems, which obviously will make things a lot tougher for Stöger as he aims to earn his first win against Bayern.

Meanwhile, Die Roten lost in the semi-finals to Dortmund last season and obviously will be hoping to get a bit of revenge of their own. Like their rivals, they also changed managers in the middle of the current season, and Jupp Heynckes appears to have brought some stability to the club after Carlo Ancelotti's departure.
