Los Blancos takes on Gremio in Abu Dhabi on Saturday in the ultimate game.

On Saturday, Real Madrid will lock horns with Gremio in the FIFA Club World Cup. It is a crucial tie, as a victory would earn Los Blancos another title and would give them a confidence boost to turn their season around in 2018.

Furthermore, there are a number of records that the Spanish club could break should they overcome their Brazilian opposition. One was already broken in their 2-1 semi-final triumph over Al Jazira, as Cristiano Ronaldo became the competition’s all-time leading scorer. Now, the Portuguese ace has another in sight.

Should Zidane’s side win, Ronaldo will become the player with the most FIFA Club World Cup title wins, but he will share that record with team-mate Toni Kroos? The attacker and midfielder are two of seven players to have lifted the trophy three times, but they will break ahead of the competition with a fourth win on Saturday.

Real Madrid could also become the first team in this competition’s history to win back-to-back crowns. This will complement their achievement of becoming the first team to win two consecutive Champions League titles earlier this year.

Should the Spanish Primera Division champions triumph, they will equal Barcelona’s record of most title wins by a single club (3). Zidane’s men will also become the first Real Madrid squad to win five trophies in one calendar year if they beat Gremio – they also lifted the Champions League, La Liga, UEFA Super Cup, and Spanish Super Cup.

Breaking all these records, of course, depends on beating Gremio in Abu Dhabi. Real Madrid was almost shocked by Al Jazira in the last four,  but the Madrid side is an expert at finishing off the competition in finals.
