The Welsh ace scored the game-winning goal for Real Madrid in a game that proved to be more difficult than expected.

Gareth Bale's making a habit out of coming from the bench to save Real Madrid, and while doing so today,he managed to set a new Club World Cup record.

The Welsh star scored with his first touch of the ball against the combative Al Jazira squad, forcing Real Madrid to bounce back from a first-half disadvantage. Added to his quick start, Bale set a record in this competition as the fastest sub to score a goal, since he needed less than 60 seconds to send the ball to the back of the net. The previous owner of that record was none other than Lionel Messi.

"Gareth Bale has scored the fastest goal for a sub (he needed less than a minute) in the entire history of the Club World Cup. His goal was faster than Messi's in 2009, when he needed 62 seconds to score against Atlante."

Benzema had eight shots on goal (0 goals, 2 posts hit) and was substituted by Gareth Bale, who needed one shot on goal to score)
