The former Red Devils boss, slammed for being too boring during his Old Trafford days, doesn't enjoy Man United's football under the Special One.

After suffering a disappointing defeat in the Manchester Derby, one which may have ended the Premier League title race, Mourinho’s Man United must be feeling down. Former manager Louis Van Gaal has now added insult to injury for the Red Devils, criticizing them and their manager.

The Dutchman has blasted his former team after their 2-1 loss to Man City over the weekend. In that clash, Mourinho’s side was outclassed and beaten in their home ground.

In Van Gaal’s eyes, Guardiola’s side is miles ahead of their Manchester rival. Furthermore, the Dutchman even slammed the Special One’s tactics, labeling his team as boring.

This is ironic, as Louis was ripped apart during his days at the Theatre of Dreams for being too boring. The 66-year-old now argues that Man United’s football under his successor is more difficult to enjoy.

"If you ask me how did I do at United, I will say it was my best year ever, given the circumstances I was working under," Van Gaal told Fox Sports in Holland (as per Sky Sports)

"We played football that was quite alright. But it's not football that is appreciated in England.

"And yet, right now, looking at United, I have to conclude Mourinho is not being criticized while it's far more boring football.

"I would rather watch City play than United. You need quality in a squad and it's clear City have a better squad.

"What United produce now is defensive football. I always played attacking football. The proof is that the opposition were always parking the bus.

"They don't do that now because Jose Mourinho plays so defensive."

Being called boring by Van Gaal will not sit well with the Portuguese tactician, but he can prove his critics wrong in their next game. The league’s second-placed team faces Bournemouth at home knowing failure to win will see Man City increase their 11-point lead.
