Mourinho ready to swap Mata ?

Mourinho plotting swap with Inter involving Juan Mata

December 6, 2017 By Oscar Rojas
The Spanish midfielder may be living his last moments at Old Trafford, as one of Mourinho's transfer targets may finally land in Manchester.

The complicated relationship between Juan Mata and Jose Mourinho may be ready to have one more chapter added, as the Spaniard midfielder may be set to leave Old Trafford this winter.

According to reports by Corriere dello Sport, the former Chelsea midfielder will join Inter Milan in order to make room for Portuguese playmaker Joao Mario, a footballer that Jose Mourinho desperately tried to sign last season.  Mata has only played 15 games in all comps for the Red Devils , scoring one goal.

On the other hand, Mario hasn't been able to earn a spot in Luciano Spalletti's starting XI. The 2016 UEFA Euro winner has only played four times for the neroazzurri this season, especially due to the team's domestic success that has them topping the league ahead of Napoli and Juventus.

Despite Manchester United's and PSG's interest to sign the Portuguese ace, Inter's hierarchy is still studying the possibility of letting Joao Mario leave, especially because of the staggering amount they paid Sporting Lisbon less than 18 months ago for the player's services.

With that in mind, Inter Milan's bosses may be open to consider a swap for a player that boosts their title hopes. Juan Mata may fit the bill, but it will all be decided once the January transfer window opens up.
