Liverpool’s Roy Hodgson: I’m Too Dejected, Don’t Ask Me About My Future

A miserable 3-1 defeat away to Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League left the Liverpool family in absolute disappointment. However, Roy Hodgson refuses to talk about his future at the club.

Liverpool coach Roy Hodgson has put the club in a total mess... What will be next for him?
At a press conference “which lasted barely 2 minutes”, according to the Telegraph, Roy Hodgson made himself clear over the fact that he did not want to answer any question regarding his future with Liverpool. “I am not prepared to talk about my future,” he confirmed.
“At this moment, I am depressed enough with the performance (of Liverpool) and the result (against Blackburn).

“I’m not here to talk about that future. I have no comments to make (on the concerned issue), and I don’t intend to answer any questions on the subject.”

A late penalty miss from Steven Gerrard prevented the midfielder from getting a double which could have pushed the Reds closer to a comeback, after Martin Olsson and Benjamin Mwaruwari had given Blackburn a 3-0 lead at the Ewood Park. A stressful second half also triggered hostile chants from Liverpool fans in the stadium against Roy Hodgson: “You’re getting sacked in the morning!”

Well, morning has passed now in England, but there still hasn’t been any news on Hodgson being sacked. The manager nonetheless took his time to plead with the fans after the match, explaining that the emotions of his players were as hard as theirs.

"As far as I’m concerned, it is a really bad day. We had a very large travelling contingent and I know they (the players) were dejected at the end. What the (Liverpool) fans are feeling, I can assure them that if they came into the dressing room, they would see people similarly dejected.

“We are very dejected… we have feelings of bitter disappointment and frustration. Who knows? If Steven (Gerrard)’s penalty had gone in we could have salvaged something. We’re very frustrated and disappointed for the fans.”

Liverpool will come face to face against Manchester United at the Old Trafford in the FA Cup this Sunday, on January 9. As at now, there is no confirmation regarding the identity of the Liverpool coach for that particular clash; but at this instant, the fans are certainly hoping for nothing but a replacement.
